When I first got interested in the Monkees I went and rented their movie Head. And I loved it.
My next move was to buy a Monkees greatest hits cd. On the cd I chose "Listen to the Band" was the only Mike vocal included. And at that time I was leaning towards being partial to Peter, so I didn't pay much attention at first.
Then on about the third or forth time listening to the cd, I was in the backseat of a car listening to it on my headphones. "Listen to the Band" came on and I really paid attention this time. Well, I found myself in complete awe of that voice. Noone else's voice had ever blown me away like his. So I put that song on replay until I went to the music store and had them order me a Monkees box set. When I got it I fell more in love with Mike's voice, and I continue to be in love with it. And I always will.
