* Micky's parents were both in the entertainment business and helped him get into show business at an early age.
* Circus Boy was Micky's first series. He played an orphaned boy who is the water boy for the elephants
in his uncle’s one-ring circus at the turn of the 20th Century. It ran 3 years.
* Was in the obscure rock and roll band, The Missing Links. During this time he took on the name Mike Swain.
* In high school he was diagnosed with Perthes disease, a degenerative disease of the hip joint.
* He impressed the casting crew of the Monkees by acting silly, doing crazy faces, twitching his hands and doing
impressions of movie stars. He gave them his best impression of insanity. I'm sure he did well.
* Micky found out through a friend who saw his name in the paper that he had got the part as a Monkee.
* In the early 70's he provided voice-overs for a number of Saturday-morning cartoon
series including The Funky Phantom.
* Auditioned for the role of Fonzie on the series Happy Days...ha.
* In 1980, Dolenz produced and directed the sitcom "Metal Mickey", featuring a small metallic robot
with the catch-phrase "boogie boogie".....
* While Tim Burton was still slated to direct Batman Forever, Dolenz was considered to play The Riddler,
and even did a screen test for the role. He was reportedly cast
after Robin Williams turned the part down. However, Burton's exit from the film ended Mickey's involvement.
* In 2005, Micky became the morning disc jockey at oldies radio station WCBS-FM in New York.
And Micky's dream girl?
Alive.
